Spirit of Sydney’s Skipper
This season we welcome Radek Kloskowsky as our newest team member as the Skipper ofﾠ S/Y Spirit of Sydney. He was born in Poland but we can say he is an inhabitant of the world.
Radek has been fed with the dream of sailing and romantic voyage since the very childhood. His father, boat builder, passed over a dream that was beyond his own reach. In early twenties Radek left Poland in pursuit of a lost romance, but instead discovered a new affair with the ocean and possibilities to work as a yachtsman. He lived in a constant journey with over 60.000 NM sailed in a vast variety of locations, Atlantic, Mediterranean, Caribbean, Brasil, Patagonia, Caribbean, Morocco, Islands of Atlantic Macaronesia, Antarctic and Arctic. After learning many different captains, he realized, that he could be a skipper himself and with ease reached for his Yacht master license. His understanding of boat physics, construction, materials and systems, gives him a
great advantage in the field of maintenance and damage prevention. He is very well known for being the solution to every situation that the high latitudes can present.
ﾠHe has a special love for the polar regions and will always share stories with enthusiasm. He speaks fluent Polish, English, Spanish and Portuguese and can communicate in several others.
